Search the site

The following tool allows you to search economic-truth for words or phrases. The search is powered by Google, so normal Google algorithms should be used.

Some useful hints to searching with Google:

  1. If you have an exact phrase, surround it in double quotes. So, to search for consumption function, enter "consumption function" in the search box.
  2. If you return a large number of results, and need to narrow the search, it is often useful to exclude words. This can be done by prefixing the word with a minus sign. So, to search for documents which do not include the word monetarist, enter -monetarist in the search box.
  3. Search for specific words, not general ones. If you search for demand for money you will get a much more accurate result than just searching for demand.
  4. Think about which words would appear in a page with the information you requested. "How do people decide what to spend money on?" is unlikely to appear on any page.
  5. If a word could be replaced easily by other words, you can ask Google to look also for synonyms. Searching for ~money will also search for currency, cash and financial.
